Term 4 Overview

Term 2
Week beginning 31st October 2016


‘Thanksgiving’


This term, learners in Ash class will be learning about the American history of thanksgiving before focusing on Christmas and this year’s Key Stage One performance! We will also be visiting the American museum in Bath, Thursday 1st December 2016 (letter available below)

 

‘Lights, Camel, Action!’

 

This is this year’s KS1 Christmas performance and learners in Ash class will be acting, singing and dancing! The letter about this and cast list is available below.


Home Learning
Please ensure your child's yellow home learning book is in school every Friday. Do not bring in Children’s University passports until the last week of term.


There will be a weekly:
1) Spelling task relating to the following week’s phonics lessons. There will also a pair of homophones to discuss and two 'tricky' words that do not follow a spelling pattern. Please practice all of these spellings with your child.


2) Maths task. We are now focusing on multiplication and division facts for the times tables (x2, x10, x5, x4 and x3 tables in Year 2). The ‘144 club’ letter is available below.


and 3) Daily reading at home. Please hear your child read every day, recording comments and new vocabulary that you have discussed.


Answering the ‘little questions’ are optional home learning tasks that must come into school Thursday 16th Decemberwith home learning books, reading diaries and Children’s University passports as all home learning will be validated on this day.

Term 1
Week beginning 5th September 2016

‘My dream home’

This term, learners in Ash class will be imagining, designing, creating and selling their ‘dream home’, inspired by the redevelopment in Bitton.

Home Learning

Please ensure your child's yellow home learning book is in school every Friday. Do not bring in Children’s University passports until the last week of term.

There will be a weekly:

2) Maths task. We are focusing on number bonds to 10 and 20 for now. When the learners are secure they will start to practise the times tables (x2, x10, x5, x4 and x3 tables in Year 2).
