Your child’s reading skills may slide back over the long holidays, but you can help by encouraging them to read throughout the summer. We’re making it easy for you to do just that - all you have to do is bring them to a library that’s convenient for you so they can join in the fun of our Creepy House Summer Reading Challenge. Choose, read and enjoy just 6 books at any time over the summer for your child to collect their medal and certificate. Plus, when they have read 6 books needed to complete the challenge your child will be entered into a free LibrariesWest prize draw with the chance to win a Kobo eReader or their age in books (terms and conditions apply, see website for details). There’s other freebies to collect along the way too including glow in the dark wristbands and shuddersomely smelly stickers! Better still, we’re also holding free activities throughout the holiday to help your child complete the challenge. Visit your local library or log on to www.southglos.gov.uk/libraries to find out more. The challenge begins in all South Gloucestershire Libraries on July 13 and runs until September 14. It’s a great way to keep your child occupied for free this summer! For more Creepy House fun, why not check out the website www.creepy-house.org.uk?
