The Thrive Approach

 

The Thrive approach draws on the latest research into brain science and has been an ongoing development over the last 15 years by many different groups from teachers to scientists, social care to child psychologists.

Thrive is a specific way of working with all children to help develop their social and emotional well-being, enabling them to engage with life and learning.  It supports them in becoming more confident and self-assured.

Positive relationships are at the heart of Thrive.  We use these relationships, together with play and creative activities.  These activities support children'd development to help them:

  • Feel good about themselves
  • Increase their sense of security and trust
  • Increase their self-esteem and confidence to learn
  • Learn to recognise and regulate their feelings
  • And much, much more!

Our Thrive team is currently made up of two registered practitioners - Miss Burt and Mrs Adams.  Between them they spend every afternoon working with children from across the school.  

This year Mrs Tarrant and Mrs King are also starting the year long process to become registered practitioners themselves.

We even have our own Thrive room where children come for their session.
